“Keeping the Faith” is a seventy-two minute film used as a tool to empower people to help the displaced citizens of the Gulf Coast. The Katrina500 program is simply an adopt-a-church and adopt-a-elderly individual process which uses this film to raise money for the rebuilding of one thousand structures. Bobby Mardis of Fat Chance Films is spear-heading the program in hopes of acquiring support from the general public, churches, organizations and anyone with an open heart.
The process is simple… an entity can become an Angel by using 1000 DVDs as an incentive to acquire donations which are used to pay for rebuilding costs. We are targeting one thousand structures in Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana that have gone through the FEMA registering process and have a verifiable FEMA number.
The primary “forms of distribution” are through churches, this website, Starbucks and Public Broadcasters. Fat Chance Films will officially launch the program March 15, 2008. Any interested parties are encouraged to contact us and participate as this effort can only be rectified by a grass roots collective collaboration.
