Mission Statement

The mission of the “Katrina 500 program” is to use this feature documentary as a tool to acquire donations for the purposes of helping to implement an adopt-a-church and home program. One hundred percent of all collected donations for “Keeping the Faith” will be used to repair structures in the rebuilding process in Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana.

The Methodology

One thousand entities, primarily churches, will be teamed up with the owners of one thousand damaged structures consisting of (500 churches) and (500 homes owned by elderly individuals who can’t get back into the work force). Each adopting entity will acquire 1000 units of the film for manufacturing and administration costs of $2.00 each. The church will then collect $30.00 donations for each unit in exchange for a commemorative DVD.

The collected offering is then sent by the adopting church or entity, to a FDIC regulated bank located in Los Angeles. Each participating entity will submit rebuilding, and/or de-molding invoices for the completed work. The non-profit with then pay the pre-designated fees and payments for that work.

Each adopting church, or entity will be listed and profiled on the website along with the church, or home that is the “corresponding beneficiary” of the rebuilding grant. All entities will agree to have their profile and finances publicly displayed on the site. Full accountability for the grants and what they were used for will be displayed for all to see.

As an American citizen, we come together when disasters affect our people. Although individually each citizen my not have the ability to donate thousands of dollars per issue, we are often compelled to financially support by giving something. The Katrina500 Program makes it possible for every citizen to participate by donating a small amount of money which accumulatively makes a big difference. With each donation, a commemorative DVD is given so that we don’t forget this historic event, and that we helped.

Hurricane Katrina did not just cause a problem that only the government is obligated to solve, but each citizen also inherits that same obligation. Hopefully we will respond as “the solutions to this daunting rebuilding task” will take years of hard work and significant money to complete.

Program Termination

After the Katrina 500 program has reached the goal of helping to rebuild one thousand structures, the program will terminate. Any interested parties can refer to the website for information on becoming an adopting church, entity, or grant recipient. All rules and regulations will be posted.
