This "Keeping the Faith" trailer is an overview of the film. It is about the heroes of Hurricane Katrina who were the faith based organizations. They were on the spot, hours after the catastrophe and continue to be Angels in America's time of need. Bishop Charles E. Blake from West Angeles also gives words of inspiration along with one hundred other celebrities.

About the Filmmaker - Bobby Mardis

Each Grantee will be selected at random though a committee of reviewers who will read a single page story request.  The request is simply identifying what happened to your structure during the hurricane and what it will take to repair it.  Also a brief description of how the hurricane as affected your life or your churches ability to do business.

Five hundred churches will be selected and five hundred elderly individuals will be selected as well. 

 
  • We will qualify Grantees
  • We will verify repair needs with contractors
  • Pay deposit to initiate structural repairs (homes of elderly and churches)
  • Pay balance once repairs are completed
  • Post repair and payment details on Katrina500 website
 

The Criteria

INDIVIDUAL

  • Retired
  • 65 years or older
  • Structure damaged by Hurricane Katrina
  • Home is repairable, NOT totally Demolished
  • Located on the Gulf Coast of MS, AL or LA
  • Is in a zone where it is permitted to repair
  • Have FEMA Number

CHURCHES

  • Structure damaged by Hurricane Katrina
  • Have a faith-based nonprofit with a ts 501(c)(3)
  • Located on the gulf coast of MS, AL or LA
  • Have a Federal Tax I.D.#
  • Have FEMA Number
  • Send picture of the structure and the damage
  • Send picture of person representing structure & agree to be posted on site.
